Some couples dream of a grand wedding, others crave something quieter, more intimate — a celebration that’s just about the two of them. Lauren and Edwin chose the latter. After saying “I do” in a simple city hall ceremony in New York, they boarded a plane for their next chapter: a romantic elopement photoshoot in Venice.
They arrived in Italy just days after their legal ceremony, planning to stay in Venice for only two nights. But, like so many others before them, they quickly realised: two days in Venice is never enough. The city surprised them — its beauty, its mood, and how perfect it felt for celebrating love. It truly is one of the best destinations for an intimate wedding or elopement.

A New York Elopement Meets Venetian Magic
Lauren and Edwin had never been to Venice before, and they didn’t arrive with a checklist or big expectations. What they did bring was their wedding attire, their rings, and a desire to document this moment in a way that felt timeless and true. As a Venice elopement photographer, my goal is always to capture this authentic connection.
Lauren wore a simple yet elegant white dress that complemented her natural beauty. Edwin chose a classic black suit — understated, confident, and perfect for the backdrop of Venice. Together, they embodied the essence of a modern Venice elopement: heartfelt, effortless, and deeply romantic.
Capturing Their Venice Wedding Story: Sunset & Sunrise Sessions
Their Venice wedding photoshoot was designed in two chapters to maximize the city’s enchanting light and iconic locations.
Part One: Sunset Gondola Serenade We began with a gondola ride at sunset — one of the most iconic and intimate ways to experience Venice. We boarded from the gondola station near Hotel Danieli and drifted through the quiet canals. As they toasted with prosecco and held each other close, the city glowed around them, creating dreamy elopement photos in Venice.
Part Two: Sunrise in San Marco Square The second part of the session took place the next morning, starting at 6 a.m. in San Marco Square. It was a special day — the Festa della Sensa, a historic celebration of Venice’s symbolic “marriage with the sea.” Lauren completely trusted my timing and vision, and they were both ready before sunrise, glowing with excitement.
Thanks to the early hour, we captured iconic spots — St. Mark’s Basilica, the Doge’s Palace, the Bridge of Sighs, and the gondola docks along Riva degli Schiavoni — all bathed in golden light and free from crowds. This early start is crucial for Venice elopement photography to avoid the bustling daytime crowds and capture the city’s magic.
We also visited quiet little bridges, stopped at the Rialto Bridge, and took photos with the bridge as a backdrop before heading back to their hotel, Baglioni Hotel Luna, by classic Venetian water taxi.

Simple, Beautiful, and Full of Feeling: Their Authentic Venice Elopement
This shoot wasn’t about posing or perfection — it was about celebrating connection. Lauren and Edwin exchanged rings again in front of the Doge’s Palace. They kissed, laughed, and even learned how to do a romantic dip — which they completely nailed.
Everything about the session was serene, joyful, and deeply personal. Their love was the focus, and Venice simply held the space around it, making for truly authentic Venice wedding photos.

Client Feedback: Lauren’s Words on Her Venice Wedding Photographer
Lauren’s words after the shoot meant the world to me:
“I hired Olga in early June 2025 to take our wedding photos in Venice, Italy—and I can confidently say she is one of the BEST photographers I’ve ever worked with! She captured absolutely stunning images without ever making us feel like we were in a formal photoshoot. My husband and I were able to fully take in the beauty of Venice and enjoy the moment, all while she photographed us effortlessly.
We just received our photo gallery, and we are blown away by how gorgeous the pictures are. Olga went above and beyond in every way. Unlike any other photographer I’ve hired before, she took extra time on her own initiative to ensure she captured the exact shots I had envisioned. Her dedication, talent, and eye for detail truly exceeded all expectations.
Thank you so much, Olga! I wholeheartedly recommend her—you won’t be disappointed.”
Moments like this are why I do what I do. I want you to fall in love with Venice, to experience something real, and to leave with images that feel like memories — honest, warm, and full of joy.
