Some couples arrive in Venice with a checklist – Pratik and Christina came with nothing but joy. Newly eloped and soaking up the calm of their Italian honeymoon, they weren’t chasing landmarks. They simply wanted to capture this moment in their lives: light, love, and laughter in one of the most romantic cities on earth. That kind of relaxed, real connection is exactly what I love to photograph.
A Honeymoon Photoshoot in Venice with a Personal Connection
They said they chose me because they loved my natural style, but also because we shared something special.
I volunteer EMT in my free time, and they both work in emergency medicine. It was the kind of instant vibe match that made everything feel easy.
We met at golden hour, when the light starts to melt into the buildings and everything looks like a film set.
Our first location was the iconic and very busy – Rialto Bridge, but they didn’t mind the crowds. Pratik was already ready to shine with his dance-dip photo skills (seriously, a natural!). Christina laughed every time he swept her into a pose, it felt more like friends hanging out than a photo session.
From the Rialto Bridge to Hidden Venice Streets
After capturing a few joyful moments at Rialto, I led them away from the busy heart of the city and into two of my favorite sestieri: San Polo and Santa Croce.
There, I shared a secret spot with them: Campo San Boldo a quiet little square away from the tourist path, full of old-world charm. It’s a place most people pass without noticing, but it has one of the most cinematic vibes in Venice (a scene from Hunting Venice was even filmed there). Pratik and Christina loved it and we had it all to ourselves.
Golden Hour Light, Dance Dips, and Easy Laughter
The whole session was playful, light, and full of laughter. There was no pressure to perform or pose — just the two of them being present with each other, dancing through alleyways, pausing by canals, and holding hands in the last warm light of the evening.
This shoot was such a reminder of why I love what I do connecting with couples who just want to feel something real, and who trust me to turn that feeling into photographs. Pratik and Christina didn’t come to Venice for the postcard-perfect locations; they came for the experience and that’s exactly what we captured.

One of the best things about these lesser-known districts is how authentic they feel. We stopped at Campo San Boldo, a peaceful square that most tourists walk right past. It’s one of my secret spots – calm, romantic, and full of cinematic charm. In fact, a scene from Hunting Venice was filmed there.
For couples like Pratik and Christina who don’t care about the “top 10 sights,” these quieter areas let you slow down and connect. You get the beauty of Venice, without the crowds — and that always leads to better photos.
Capturing the Feeling of an Italian Elopement
What I love most about this shoot is that it wasn’t about perfection, it was about presence. It reflected everything I try to offer as a Venice photographer: a space to be yourselves, enjoy each other, and come away with honest, beautiful memories of your time in the city.
