When Keegan first reached out with a Venice surprise proposal inquiry, I could tell he had a clear vision and a big heart. He wanted the moment to feel intimate, natural, and completely unforgettable.

Keegan chose the “friendly tourist” scenario, where I would pretend to be just another visitor offering to take a photo for the couple. Since they were staying in the Dorsoduro district, I sent him a few location options, and he selected Ponte Trevisan, a quiet bridge with a dreamy view and golden evening light. I had scouted the spot in advance to make sure the light would be just right – and at sunset, it truly glowed.
On the day of the shoot, I arrived about 15 minutes early to set up my phone in a hidden spot for video, and slipped into character – just a fellow tourist, camera in hand. When Keegan and Mollie arrived, everything unfolded exactly as planned. They took a quick selfie, and then I offered to take a photo of them, explaining I was testing a new lens.
Once I had them positioned with the light, the bridge, and the canal perfectly framed, I gave our secret cue:
“Okay, now let’s take a romantic photo.”
That was Keegan’s signal.
He dropped to one knee.
Mollie froze. Then she lit up with pure joy and surprise. She hadn’t expected it at all — and her reaction was one of the sweetest I’ve ever captured. Happy tears, laughter, a glowing smile. Of course, she said yes.

After the big moment, we took some time to simply walk and enjoy the evening. We wandered through the quiet corners of Dorsoduro, pausing by peaceful canals and over little bridges. The light was still soft and golden, and their energy as a couple was nothing short of joyful. Both Keegan and Mollie were full of smiles, giggles, and that kind of love that makes everything else fade into the background.
They were a dream to photograph – relaxed, kind, and completely themselves.
Alongside the photos, I also delivered a video clip of the proposal, along with a few more behind-the-scenes moments from our walk. These tiny moving memories made the experience even more emotional and lasting.
